About Will

Will Porter is an actor, comedian, and writer currently based out of NYC. He holds a BA from Muhlenberg College in Theatre & Dance, and an MFA in Acting from the University of Missouri Kansas City. He most recently appeared in the world premier of Magic Valley Community Theatre Presents Little Women at the Unicorn Theatre, and has previously worked at KC Rep, The MUNY, Berkshire Theatre Group, The Fulton, and the National Tour of CATS.

Will grew up in Acton, Massachusetts — hometown of Steve Carell and many historical re-enactments with muskets and buckled shoes. Will’s early training includes The Acton School of Ballet, Kirov Academy of Ballet, San Francisco Ballet School, and Interlochen Arts Camp. He has completed Chris Bayes’ Clown Teacher Training, and had studied with Shakespeare & Company in Lenox, Massachusetts.

As a writer, his works have been seen at the New York City Fringe Festival, KC Fringe, and at the Charlotte Street Foundation. His works include "Hatching" (starring Britt Lower from Severance and Kennedy Kanagawa from Broadway's "Into The Woods"), David Copperfield (Critics Pick, KC Fringe), and Crutchie Go Fuck Yourself: The Unauthorized Sequel to Newsies, with other works in development.

As an educator, he teaches professionals, undergraduate students, and children alike. He is a returning faculty member at the Pocono Mountain Music Festival Arts Camp, and teaches an on-going Shakespeare class in New York, aimed towards actors who feel intimidated by the Bard.
